With Love Market and Cafe

With Love Market & Café – Not just a business, but a community stakeholder

Self-Help is working to help make healthy foods available in all communities – not just some of the more affluent ones.  In 2015 Self-Help Federal and National Cooperative Bank teamed up to help finance Los Angeles’ With Love Market & Café.  The financing helped With Love open a 3,000-square-foot start-up grocery market and café in Southwest Los Angeles – a community where you can mostly find convenience stores, fast food and only two full-service grocery stores.  No wonder the diabetes rate there is three times higher than the rest of Los Angeles.

With Love Market and Café also includes a community development arm focused on providing health and food education. The business aims to be the neighborhood’s source of organic produce and other healthy foods as well as a community hub and learning space. Located at 1969 S. Vermont Ave. in Los Angeles.
